"Mike Livingston is a mixture of Neil Diamond, Harry Chapin, and David Letterman.....YOU figure him out!!"-WMUR-TV
Update: 6-2-2008
If you'd like to share any pictures taken at one of my
gigs,
please email them to me...
... I just might post them!
Well... um... where do I start?
Roughly two weeks ago I was
playing at
Patrick's
in Goffstown, NH, and I noticed that
every time I would sing loud, my head would feel
like it was painfully reverberating inside. Not only that,
but it appeared that my PA was louder than it
usually is. Weird!!
So - I figure it's the PA acting
up (It's working fine.),
but it continued to
happen on a regular basis!
It turns out that I have...
...A PERFORATED EARDRUM!! (right ear)
How the heck did THAT happen?
Maybe I've
been implementing the wrong earwax removal system...

(Is this the wrong stuff to use?!?)
Actually - it probably came from my illnesses over the winter months.
The good news is that it should
heal in a few weeks if I'm careful.
Even better news is that it doesn't effect studio work!
(I mix and master at a relatively low volume)
The bad news is that I have to wear annoying earplugs when I perform.
(Honestly, I feel like I'm singing in a fishbowl with them on!
A very strange sensation-sation-sation-tion-tion-tion.....)

Have you ever heard of "The Yips"? "The Yips" is a golfer's
condition. You get "The Yips" if you've had a bad game, then you try to alter
your swing to make up for it. Eventually it just snowballs into an avalanche of
self doubt. It ruins your form.
I've been dealing with "The Mike Livingston Yips" for the past month or
so! Not just professionally, but in
EVERYTHING!!
It really sucks!
Especially when you're thinking of seriously putting yourself back out there
with original music. I'm still getting over my 4 year "divorce/record deal
blowup slump"! I start building up my nerve to start over - and
WHAM!!!
Things in your life (personal & business) cause you to second guess everything.
It's made me a nervous wreck! I know I've come across as a bit
disjointed
talking to my friends.
Thank you Nick! You really helped your Dad out!!
It's AMAZING how far just a little bit of praise goes.
I remember at one time T.D. mentioned that I was "very entertaining". That had
me walking on air for a week!! Pitiful huh?!
Just goes to show you... I'M EASY!! :)
OK... is this a bad sign?
I'm in the video store renting a movie when this guy walks by me and says "Hi".
I have no idea who he is.
He sees that I'm confused and tells me that he's a fan!
I say, "Oh... well... thanks".
He takes off and IMMEDIATELY goes into the "adult section".
Should I be depressed about this?!
Just puttin' it out there gang... :)

"What the heck is that?"
THIS is a painting of me (I'm the one with
the guitar) created by a
very talented children's book illustrator named Mittie Cuetara.
Mittie and
her friends were vacationing in Waterville Valley, NH.
They just happened to be
staying at The Valley Inn where
I was performing. She started painting away, and
"TA-DA"!!!!
Thank you Mittie!!! I'm truly humbled...
Please check out the new additions to the site...
My schedule
And please sign my guestbook to let me know you were here!!!

Wanna meet the band? Here you go...
Click here to see my guitars if you're interested.
Yours truly has made it
into a book!! It's called: "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Music
on the Internet with MP3". They've placed my song, "Cruisin' Through
The Afternoon" on the MP3 CD-ROM you get with the book. I also got a pretty
good write-up. NEATO!!! Thanks Nat & Rod!!!!
